Character name: Sakura Kinomoto
Character series: Cardcaptor Sakura
Appearance:
14 years old, female
honey blonde hair, green eyes
short, mildly athletic build
likes cute, but functional outfits
History:
Sakura was born to Fujitaka Kinomoto and his young Nadeshiko nee Amamiya, 7 years after the birth of her older brother Touya. The small family settled at Tomoeda when Sakura was 3 years old, just months before Nadeshiko, who had always been rather frail, succumbed to an illness and died, leaving behind her husband and two small children.
Her father Fujitaka is a distant relative of the Reeds who teaches alchemy at the Red Guild and is thus away from his children more often than not. Nadeshiko was from a rather prominent family to the north of Idran, who never quite forgave Fujitaka for marrying her when she was only 16 years old and for allowing her to die (and in a place so far from them, no less).
Neither of her parents are overly skilled in terms of magic, though Fujitaka is rather adept at alchemy and Nadeshiko is said to have been able to see and converse with spirits, a talent that Touya inherited from her. Thus, it came as a surprise to many when, at the tender age of just 10 years old, Sakura was taken in by none other than Clow Reed as his apprentice and declared his successor by the time she was 12, after successfully passing any and all trials placed before her.
She’s got a number of friends and plenty of admirers not just in Tomoeda but also from some of the nearby villages because of this, and partly because of her sunny smiles and sweet personality.
Overall, Sakura’s childhood has been idyllic and restful, or as much as it could be when there are a handful of other young people with magical abilities running around your settlement. At 14 though, she feels she’s ready to broaden her horizons and learn more so she’ll be able to better serve and protect her home as a sorceress once she finally fully comes into her own.
Personality:
Sakura is kind and brave, idealistic and unfailingly optimistic, caring and just a bit too naïve when it comes to worldly knowledge, but you’d never find a sweeter, more loyal soul. She’s just the kind of girl that's easy to love.
Cheerful, sweet and upbeat, it's no wonder that Sakura makes friends with almost everyone she comes into contact with. With her infectious smiles, caring personality and innocent nature, she somehow worms her way into even the toughest of hearts given enough time. She's also incredibly loyal to the people she cares about and can never stand seeing someone feeling down, going out of her way to try and cheer them up if possible, which usually tends to endear her to the people around her.
Growing up without a mother doesn't seem to have overly affected Sakura, though that isn't to say that she doesn't miss her mom. She's actually very responsible for her age, adept at keeping house, doing chores, and even cooking meals on her own, for all that she's only 14 years old. Her father and older brother both know this, and trust her to be able to take care of herself, though Touya still worries about his baby sister even if he'd never admit it.
She’s rather clueless about the more ruthless ways of the world – her upbringing in Tomoeda and the watchful eyes of certain powerful people on her have contributed to this – and she has rather simplistic views on right and wrong, but she is learning, albeit a bit slowly.
With more time, she’ll mature more and grow more into herself, but until that time comes, she’ll have to
Abilities:
Magic – a mixture of elemental and summoning mostly via her Cards, though she also can foretell the future with or without them.
Spell creation (still learning)
Sports (mostly running and gymnastics)
Housekeeping skills (hush, being able to keep house is an important ability and does help with survival! >_> )
Weapons and/or items of note:
Staff usually sealed in the form of a key that hangs around her neck.
Sakura Cards, which were formally Clow Cards
a picture of her family from back when her mother was alive which she always keeps somewhere on her person.
Allegiance: Friends and family first and foremost, to Clow and Tomoeda, and humanity in general.
Location at gamestart: likely Tomoeda in Idran, though she might possibly be on the way to Sereitei depending on backstory mixing.
Open to character death? No. Something tells me Sakura’s the kind that would be rather difficult to kill off due to a lot of things, actually.
